With TWS being the last race of the year, I decided to experiment with a few different classes and had mixed results. Instead of the normal A, B, C Superbike and A Superstock, I decided to change it to B, C Superbike, B, C Superstock and Formula 1. Since I hadn’t previously run Formula 1 or B and C Superstock, this year I started dead last on the grid. That’s not the best place to start when you’re trying to go for a good finish, but I gave it my best shot. By the time I got to Formula 1, my tires were spinning up on exit of the left hand turns. I suppose that’s bound to happen when you’re trying to out-accelerate liter bikes.

B Superstock: 13th

C Superstock: 11th

After four months of trying different tires, I am back on Pirelli’s! In July I had switched to Bridgestone BT-003’s. It’s not that I ever had any issues with the Pirelli Dragon Supercorsa Pro’s, but I felt that I needed to experiment to be sure of the best performing tire for me. When I switched to the BT-003’s, I noticed that I lost about three seconds a lap on some tracks. At first, I just chalked it up to being a confidence issue since the tires felt drastically different. But as time wore on, I realized that I was having to work harder than ever to get my times back down to where they had been just months before. Then considering the tire issue I had with one of the rears, I thought it was time to return to Pirelli’s for the last race of the year at Texas World Speedway. It was definitely the right move!
